Our rooms are equipped with standard toiletries (soap and shampoo), coffee makers, LED TV with English and Spanish channels, clothes hooks, biodegradable plastic bags for recycling cans and bottles, plastic bags for laundry service, and a safety deposit box.

No, they do not. There is only a central heating system and air circulation system.

No. According to Mexican laws, all indoor areas of buildings (and most of the CIMMYT campus) must be smoke-free.
No, it is not allowed as there are visitors and families. Please be mindful of noise levels. There are specific areas for social events at CIMMYT, including our public areas and the Mexican Corner (community center).

If I leave CIMMYT after 12:00 pm, who should I inform? Does late check-out incur a cost?
Late check-outs incur a cost. However, if no reservation is expected in the room, a courtesy extension until 3:00 pm may be granted with prior authorization from Hospitality.
Yes. Please inform the concierges or the Administrative Assistant if you wish to store your luggage in the Maya building when checking out.

Our laundry room is in the Accommodation area next to the pool. It is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Laundry services incur a cost. You can find the price list in Mexican pesos listed on the laundry service form.
Alternatively, self-service laundry is available at no cost; please note that you will need to bring your own detergent. If you require this service, request the code to access the facility from the concierge team.
Laundry service is free for guests staying in the Guest House.
It includes washing, ironing, and folding of clothes.
Dry cleaning service is not available.
Place your clothes inside the plastic bag provided in your room and fill out the laundry service form with your name, room number, type, and quantity of clothes to be washed.
If your accommodation has been arranged by a CIMMYT Program; please check with your point of contact if payment has already been arranged.
Personal payments for accommodation, laundry, and cleaning services can be made at:
- CIMMYT Cashier’s Office from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Cards and cash, pesos and dollars).
- Laundry Reception from Monday to Friday from 08:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Cash only)
- Maya Reception from Monday to Friday from 08:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Cards only)
A payment slip must be presented for payment to be processed.
A scanned copy of the receipt must be provided to the administrative assistant for accounting purposes.
Payments can be made with credit card (Visa and Master Card), in USD or pesos (at the exchange rate indicated by the CIMMYT cashier).
The dining hall is in the Accommodation area, and there is also a cafeteria located in the main building. Meals are served during the following hours:

The machines operate with Mexican coins of $1.00, $2.00, $5.00, and $10.00, and bills of $20.00, $50.00, and $100.00 pesos.
Enter the item number, and it will display the price. Once you have selected the item, insert the money, enter the item number again, collect your change, and the product.
While there are regular tests of the drinking water used at CIMMYT and it is considered safe to drink, we suggest using bottled water for drinking and cooking. Tap water is suitable for showering, laundry, and brushing teeth. Alternatively, you can find water dispensers located in the Maya building (ground floor and first floor) and in the Azteca building.
You should call the emergency number, provide your name, describe the nature of the problem, and your location.
Do not move a seriously injured person unless they are in danger. If you are trained in first aid, assist the victim. If not, wait for medical services to arrive.
Please remain calm, move away from objects that may cause fire, stay away from windows and objects that may fall, stay in a safe area. Once the shaking stops, follow the signs to find emergency exits and head to the meeting point.
Stay calm, identify the evacuation routes and head to the nearest exit. Once you are in a safe place, please call the emergency number.
Fire extinguishers and fire hydrants are clearly marked and located on the ground floor and first floor of the Maya, Azteca, and Guest House buildings.
